Description
A1 Brickboard (formerly known as “BrickShield”) is an A1 fire-rated brick slip carrier board made from a high-strength, polymer modified cement composite with a fibreglass mesh core to give increased flexural strength. Unlike some other boards on the market in the UK, the A1 Brickboard is formed from a single mould using high-density cement with fibreglass strands and a full fibreglass reinforced mesh core made in Germany. This gives it significantly more strength than boards made from regular fibre-cement that then have channels cut into the surface which reduces the strength and increases water-absorption.
This unique system provides the simplest and most cost-effective solution for wherever an A1 fire-rated brick slip facade is required. The A1 BrickBoard brick slip carrier boards can be installed to almost any solid substrate and then essentially “tiled” with brick slips for a completely uniform finish, saving time and ensuring a consistent brick slip finish.
For the offsite and modular construction sector, A1 BrickBoard can be installed in-factory along with the brick slips, allowing for vastly reduced finishing times on-site.
Installation
- Can be installed to timber battens on existing facades or timber-frame buildings
- Can be installed with a helping hand system to create a ventilated rainscreen facade
